I awoke at 5 am to the chiming of my iPhone. It was time to get up and prepare for a 6:15am departure to the TGV station. Pierre, our guide, was also
an early riser that morning. It was his unfortunate duty to drive me to the train station. He parked the van and graciously helped me into the station
with all my bags, made sure I knew which train to board, and even packed me a
small breakfast to eat on the train! Still
not feeling well, I boarded the train about an hour later and slept most of
the way to CDG airport.

| TGV trains are quite comfortable and roomy |
I spent 3 hours at the airport waiting to
board Air Canada for the 8-hour flight to Montreal. I had an hour and a half in Montreal to go through Customs, grab a snack, and board my last flight to San Francisco - another 6 hours in the air.
I have probably never been so happy to be home again after 22 consecutive hours of travel. And yet it was one of the best (if not the best) vacation of my
life!
